Summon Search Beta Testing
We are happy to announce the soft launch of our Summon search -- a single search box located on the Library Portal home page that allows you to search *most* of our digital and physical holdings at once, seamlessly accessing articles, ebooks, etc. directly from one results screen. We think this is a game changer, making research and finding library resources significantly easier. No more having to click into each database individually!
This is the phase when we can test the new system and work out any kinks. So please keep us posted if you experience any problems linking to specific articles or materials. Feedback like that will help us fine-tune the system so it operates well for all!

Amnesty
Got overdue library books?! Now is the time to return them to take advantage of our library late fines amnesty. Bring your overdue books back between now and the start of the fall 2021 semester – you can hand them to us in person during our spring 2021 operating hours, you can return them in our Circulation Desk book slot, or you can drop them in our blue 24/7 book drop located outside Building A, under the main staircase – and any fines will be forgiven! (The only exception to this amnesty are any fees associated with lost or damaged materials.) Over the summer, we will be contacting those of you with overdue library materials personally to remind you of this amnesty and to encourage you to return these materials before the start of the fall semester to avoid late fees!
National Library Week Contest
We usually celebrate National Library Week in person with food, fun, and lots of library love! Well, we certainly don't want to miss out on that last one from the list (even if we have to take a pass on food and fun, for the moment)! So please help BCC Library celebrate National Poetry Month (all of April!), plus National Library Week (April 4 - April 10, 2021), with a library-related haiku! All haiku will be published in Dolphin Tales 2021. And students are eligible for prizes, including Amazon gift cards and poetry books! The contest closes at 11:59pm EST on April 10, so submit your haiku today!

Student Survey
Also, during National Library Week, we conduct our annual student survey -- a good opportunity to check in with you all to see how we are doing! Given the uncertainty of last year, we had to cancel the 2020 survey. But we don't want to miss hearing from you for a second year! So we have adapted our survey for online administration. At some point between now and 11:59pm EST on April 10 on May 8 (Deadline EXTENDED!), please make some time to complete this survey (one per student):
