December Updates

by Liza Palmer on 2020-12-02T11:09:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

Starting this week, in light of the current COVID-19 situation, BCC Library is moving to single staffing; one person will be working in the library and one person remotely until at least the end of December.

Our hours will be changing slightly to the following:

M-Th, 7:30-11am AND 2-5:30pm (closed for cleaning, 11:00am-2:00pm, each day)

F, 8:00-11am AND 2-3pm (closed for cleaning, 11:00am-2:00pm)

Should you need to use the library, we still recommend using our LibCal reservation system to book your space in advance (https://brunswickcc.libcal.com/reserve/).  The in-person staff member will be on hand to keep the facility operating smoothly -- but any in-depth questions will be handled by our remote worker via email (bcclrc@brunswickcc.edu) or phone (please call 910-755-7331 to start your query; the remote worker will then contact you by return phone call).

For immediate assistance, we recommend using our 24/7 chat reference service by clicking on the teal teardrop-shaped "chat now!" button in the top right corner of most Library Portal pages.  Depending upon the time of day, Liza may be the librarian helping you.

And, if you are a self-help type of person, please consult our ever-growing list of tutorials (https://brunswickcc.libguides.com/guides/tutorials) and guides (https://brunswickcc.libguides.com/guides/overview).

For more information about how library services have generally changed during the fall semester, as a result of COVID-19, please refer to this blog post (https://brunswickcc.libguides.com/blog/A-COVID-19-Fall-2020-Primer).

Finally, Exam Jam (To Go!) is December 7-11!  Please keep your eyes out for an email detailing those virtual opportunities.

Many thanks for your understanding!  If we can help with anything else as the fall semester winds down, please let us know.

Stay healthy!
